A METHOD FOR ORGANIZING CONTACTS BUSINESS CARDS

The very first thing I do when I receive someone's business card is write on the back when and where we met, their business if it isn't apparent from their business name, married, number of children etc. and any other pertinent information I might have gleaned from speaking to them.
I used to keep my business cards in a show box or on my desk but after losing and misplacing some and wasting time searching I have come up with a method that works for me.
I have several file type drawers that used to hold cassette tapes and that is where I now file my business cards. One drawer is exclusively for DS/MLM companies and those I have filed alphabetically by the company name as I thought if I forgot the reps name I could always find the rep by looking under the company name.
None DS/MLM business cards I have filed alphabetically by the person's last name, if I have two cards then one is filed under the person's name and the other under the company. If I don't have a business card I can always fill out an index card with their information and file it.
I also have people's information in my address book in my computer those are mostly people from groups that I have met and joined online. Any business groups, networking groups and other associations I belong to I file all those business cards under the group/association name.
I hate filing which is the reason for so many years I never used a proper system to file business cards but this one is working for me. If you don't have any cassteete tape drawers in your house look for them at garage/yard sales. I hope this helps, you have to find a method that works best for you and you might try a couple before one clicks.

DID YOU KNOW?

DYK--- that plug-in and spray air freshener can be one of the most harmful chemicals in the home?  Why? Because they can be toxic to the lungs.
"DYK--- that the kitchen is the most important place in the home and often is the place with the dirtiest corners?"
"DYK--- that the kitchen sponge and the bathtub could be the things that harbour the most dirt/germs in the home?"

DYK---laundry dertergent that contains phosphates causes more pollution than an oil spill from a tanker?

DYK---there are natural alternative available for all household products?

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRESS & DISEASE

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRESS AND DISEASE. Why we should hang out with our girlfriends.

WOW! They Teach this at Stanford.  It's long, but please read on!

In an evening class at Stanford, the last lecture was on the mind-body
connection - the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker
(head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of
... the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married
to a woman, whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do
for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends.
At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.

Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems
that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life
experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time" helps us to
create more serotonin - a neurotransmitter that helps combat
depression and can create a general feeling of well being.

Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around
activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they
feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going. Jobs?
Yes. Sports? Yes. Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf?
Yes. But their feelings? Rarely.

Women do it all of the time.. We share from our souls with our
sisters/mothers/cousins/girlfriends and evidently that is very good for our health. He
said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our
general health as jogging or working out at a gym.

There's a tendency to think that when we are "exercising" we are
doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with
friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively
engaged—not true. In fact, he said that failure to create and
maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as
dangerous to our physical health as smoking!

So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat
yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for doing something
good for your health! We are indeed very, very lucky. Sooooo… let's
toast to our friendship with our girlfriends.. Evidently it’s very
good for our health.

Thanks to all the ladies in my life who have helped me stay healthy, happy and feeling very loved.

Life isn't about surviving the storm; but how you dance in the rain.

Forward this to all your girlfriends – and stay in touch with them.

THE ''PRODUCT'' OR ''SERVICE'' CALLED YOU

You are Always Selling!  Whether it is you, an organization or a business – you are always selling, branding and marketing!  On a conscious and unconscious level we are always representing “who we are” and those who we associate with and work with; this can easily be used as an opportunity or if ignored can be  an “extreme” negative” type of communication – today everything we do is about how we do things, what we are, who we are, why we do what we do?  Predominantly people deal with people ~ always have and always will.

Today the large corporations are more known by who runs them, who is the face of the company and who owns them – are they vested, are they involved in charities, what are their beliefs and demands about the how they want the customer experience to be!
We all want the same things:
  • Value for our dollar
  • Value for our time
  • Respect for who we are
  • To be treated as equals
  • To be communicated with as an individual
  • This isn’t rocket science, not something that was just invented, does not require a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, does not require 30 years life experience.
An old yet simple way to put sales into perspective:
If you could afford to, would you buy me?
Yes, ME.    Would you buy me?
Now, no matter what your answer was, think about this.
What if YOU were a product or service?  Who would buy you?  Why?
Keep it simple – whether you are on the sales and marketing end or the consumer end – we constantly sell to each other – the system of bartering is still alive and well in just about everything we do in life!
Sounding redundant but required:  People do business with people. They prefer to work with people they know, like and respect. And because business is always about people, the one thing you are always selling is the PERSON behind the business. The ‘product’ or ‘service’ called…YOU!
