HOSTESS COACHING 101

TIPS FOR HAVING A SUCCESSFUL HOME PARTY

#1     Pick a rep that you can rely on, ask her how many parties has she done before and what is her sales rate?   If she is new she should be bringing her upline.
#2      If the party is booked 3 weeks in advance someone should have been getting in touch with you 2 weeks before to find out
--what area do you have in your home that is suitable to display products, catalogues and other material
--do you have a table available,
----how much space is needed to comfortably display everything
----is there enough room in that space for everyone to be seated comfortable. You might have to move a few chairs or the tv.to accomodate everyone and this can be done ahead of time.
#3     Do you need to provide a mirror or a separate area for people to try on clothes or will everyone be running off to your bathroom?

#4     Do you need to supply any type of table covering or does the rep bring one
#5    Is the rep going to bring pens/pencils, catalogues, order forms or are you expected to provide these?
#6   The rep should be asking how many people are confirmed
----how many other people were interested but couldn't make it to reschedule
--- do you have outside orders
#7    The rep should then call you one week before to see if you have any questions and reminding you to call everyone again and then she should be calling again a couple of days before the party date to remind you to call everyone again to confirm they are definately coming and the time to arrive.
#8     If there are pets please put them in another room/basement

#9     Make sure children are either in bed or someone (their father) is putting them to bed not you.
#10    Any questions, drinks of water etc. requested by children should be handled by someone else not you
#11    Don't let children and husbands interrupt the party, have the conversation with everyone who lives in the home a few days before about being polite and getting all their questions that need to be answered by you before the guests arrive.
#12   Don't answer the  phone and turn off your cell and have everyone else turn theirs off once you start the meeting/party.
#13    If you are serving food and drinks don't make it too elabrate and don't put it out until after the presentation as people will be getting up all the time to replenish their plates and then the meeting ends up in the kitchen.
#14
Will the rep need a DVD player and do you know how to use yours?
#15   What arrangements are there for the products to be delivered and how do they come? to the hostess's house or are the products shipped directly to the guests houses?
#16   How is payment made? cash, cheque, credit card? a combination of all three?

If you set up the party and keep it professional but fun you will have a successful party that people will remember amd want to emulate. This may seem like a lot but it is mostly common sense but if you haven';t had a party  for a long time or never had one then these are good reminders.
